Good day, and welcome to Bus Stop - a small talk message board. Registration is not required and each post remains on the site for only a day, after which, it disappears.

If you find this place empty, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's completely abandoned. Feel free to make a post to start a discussion, perhaps someone will see it and reply!

Bus Stop is intended to be a stress free environment for talking with strangers. Try to keep a relaxed demeanor when posting, please don't say anything that might ruin the other person's day.
I hope we meet again.

Bus Stop uses an extended version of WakabaMark markup code for post formatting.
The basic features are as follows:
  • Surround text with * or _ to make it italic. _Like this_ or *like this*.
  • Surround text with ** or __ to make it bold.
  • Surround text with %% to make a spoiler
  • Make an unordered HTML list by beginning each line with *, or -. You can add line breaks in list entries by breaking the line and indenting the next line with one or more spaces.
  • Make ordered HTML lists by beginning the first line with "1."
  • Make quote sections by beginning each line with ">". Highlighting text and then clicking the post number will quote the selected text.
  • Make code sections by indenting each line by four spaces or one tab. Code sections get shown in a monospaced font, and are not otherwise formatted.
  • Make external links by just typing the URL you want to link to. Post references like >>0 can be created by clicking the post's number and are automatically turned into links. You can link posts from other boards like this >>>/test/#0. The first youtube link in the post gets embedded, unless the post has a file attachment.
If you want to make a large post with complex formatting you can test if everything looks right here.

Please fill in the subject field with a clearly defined topic when appropriate. This not only enables browsing the site like a regular message board by filtering posts with the same subject but also serves another purpose. Subjects have a longer lifespan than posts; this means that even when a subject's thread is empty, it remains in the list for several days since the last post. In the event that this board is empty, it should help a new user or someone who hasn't visited the site for a long time understand what kind of things were being discussed recently.
The board's look can be customized from the options menu, which is accessible by clicking [+] in the bottom right corner of the sidebar. Available options are as follows:
  • [theme]: switches the visual style of the site.
  • [Mona]: enables the Mona font. If your browser has problems with rendering it, turn it off to use a system font.
  • [⟳]: enables auto reloading of the page each 90 seconds.
  • [?]: controls visibility of the info post.
Options are stored in your browser's cookies, be sure to enable them, if you want to save your settings.

Bus Stop is also available through this URL vip.bus-stop.net
This is the JavaScript-free mirror of the site, so if you like, you can use it to browse the scriptless version of Bus Stop without disabling JavaScript in your browser.
Please note, that you need to solve a captcha to make posts with disabled JavaScript.

User submitted themes are placed on different subdomains as well:

I've been told in two different jobs where I have to work hard that I'm too nice. First as a teacher, and now as a financial advisor. I really want future clients to have the time to get to know me enough to see that I genuinely want to help them and would do my damnedest to help them succeed. I don't get that time to show people this. New advisors often have to do quick outreach (calls, DMs on LinkedIn, etc.), which often makes people weary, which is understandable.

I just want to work hard, actually help people, and make enough to afford a home where I can sustain having 8+ kids and lots of books in the future. I don't want to be cutthroat, manipulative, or even a billionaire like some of my coworkers do. I don't ever want to misrepresent anything to a client in the hopes of making more money. I actually want to help them increase what they have and charge a cheaper amount than competitors while still being paid for my work.

I don't know what to do. New advisors don't just get handed clients on a silver platter. We have to try and get them ourselves. I want them to see my real intentions, but I am not given time for that and the short amount of communication makes it seem like I'm trying to sell them something like a salesperson when I'm not (beyond my commission when they're charged a refundable flat fee after everything is finished).

Are people with good intentions just doomed nowadays when compared to manipulative assholes?

sometimes i wonder if it's possible to have the information diet equivalent of disordered eating. to be so focused on screen time metrics and eliminating digital distraction that it the avoidance itself becomes a problem / mental spiral.

Hey guys, i'm feeling pretty good, I recently got a girlfriend, and she's romanian! I really love languages and she sometimes teaches me some words and phrases in romanian. She loves the beatles and she loves me too. Isn't that so wonderful? She's also watching me type this after we looked at the hypothetical hurricanes wiki. I'm so glad that she likes me at all!

If you want 8+ kids you're better off joining one of those creepy cults in the desert than trying to get rich enough.

are you prepared to physically, monetarily, and emotionally care for 8+ kids, or do you want 8 kids like a child wants 8 dogs? Are you aware of the commonly deteriorated quality of life for children that are raised in these large households? Is this an adoption thing? If not, do you know the ramifications and risks that come with putting whoever's having these kids in that position?

This is all assuming you're wanting your partner to have all your kids, but how do you plan to give back to them for spending, at the very least, a totaled full 6 years of their life pregnant and an additional full year just healing? You haven't even found the right partner yet, so do you know about the developmental risks to the child and physical risks to the mother that come with geriatric pregnancies? Having that many babies safely will take 14 years. This is all baseless if you're planning on adopting, but you still need to consider the non-idealized version of the life you, your partner, and these children would have if you managed this
