Good day, and welcome to Bus Stop - a small talk message board. Each post remains on the site for only a day, after which, it disappears. Registration is not required, and small media files can be uploaded along with each post.

If you find this place empty, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's completely abandoned. Feel free to make a post to start a discussion, perhaps someone will see it and reply!

Bus Stop is intended to be a stress free environment for talking with strangers. Try to keep a relaxed demeanor when posting, please don't say or upload anything that might ruin the other person's day.
I hope we meet again.

Bus Stop uses an extended version of WakabaMark markup code for post formatting.
The basic features are as follows:
  • Surround text with * or _ to make it italic. _Like this_ or *like this*.
  • Surround text with ** or __ to make it bold.
  • Surround text with %% to make a spoiler
  • Make an unordered HTML list by beginning each line with *, or -. You can add line breaks in list entries by breaking the line and indenting the next line with one or more spaces.
  • Make ordered HTML lists by beginning the first line with "1."
  • Make quote sections by beginning each line with ">". Highlighting text and then clicking the post number will quote the selected text.
  • Make code sections by indenting each line by four spaces or one tab. Code sections get shown in a monospaced font, and are not otherwise formatted.
  • Make external links by just typing the URL you want to link to. Post references like >>0 can be created by clicking the post's number and are automatically turned into links. You can link posts from other boards like this >>>/test/#0. The first youtube link in the post gets embedded, unless the post has a file attachment.
If you want to make a large post with complex formatting you can test if everything looks right here.

Please fill the subject field with clearly defined topic when it's appropriate. It not only allows to browse this site like a regular image board by filtering the posts with the same subject, but also serves another purpose. Subjects have a longer lifetime than posts, it means that even when subject's thread is empty, it stays in the list for several days since the last post. In case this board is empty, this should help a new user or a person who hasn't visited the site for a long time to understand what kind of things were being discussed recently.

SJIS art can be displayed without any special formatting, as required proportional font is used on Bus Stop by default.
Bus Stop supports uploading of the following file types:
  • Images: jpg, png, gif.
  • Video: mp4, webm.
  • Audio: mp3
The maximum file size is 16MB.
EXIF data is stripped out from the images automatically.
The board's look can be customized from the options menu, which is accessible by clicking [+] in the bottom right corner of the sidebar. Available options are as follows:
  • [theme]: switches the visual style of the site.
  • [Mona]: enables the Mona font. If your browser has problems with rendering it, turn it off to use a system font.
  • [⟳]: enables auto reloading of the page each 90 seconds.
  • [?]: controls visibility of the info post.
Options are stored in your browser's cookies, be sure to enable them, if you want to save your settings.

Bus Stop is also available through this URL vip.bus-stop.net
This is the JavaScript-free mirror of the site, so if you like, you can use it to browse the scriptless version of Bus Stop without disabling JavaScript in your browser.
Please note, that you need to solve a captcha to make posts with disabled JavaScript.

User submitted themes are placed on different subdomains as well:

Bus Stop's page doesn't send any info to the server, besides your posts data and captcha id and answer when it's enabled. Some of the features like customization options require to have cookies enabled, but only to use your browser's local storage, without actually filling the cookies headers.
Our JavaScript code doesn't make any requests and isn't mandatory for the site's core functionality.
HTTP server's access logs are disabled. Bus Stop has a statistic system that counts unique posters and visitors by storing checksums of IP addresses in database. Internal logs contain IP addresses together with posts content in plain text for moderation purposes, such logs are stored on the server for 3 days, they aren't shared with anyone and Bus Stop's maintainer uses them very infrequently.

Bus Stop is built using the following open source projects:
Qt framework, libfcgi, cgicc, ClearSilver, SQLite3, Phantom Qt, QtCaptcha, spdlog, jQuery, Normalize.css
It runs with help of Nginx web server and uses FFmpeg, ImageMagick and ExifTool for media uploads processing.

Bus Stop supports uploading of the following file types:
  • Images: jpg, png, gif.
  • Video: mp4, webm.
  • Audio: mp3

I have a stake in the life of every user of https://bus-stop.net.
Should you fail to perform satisfactorily, you will be ejected from the board and/or subject to a class action lawsuit by me and my colleagues. x

Depends on your specs. I'd suggest Factorio over it any day of the week though.

Thanks that helps. I think I'm more just embarrassed that I didn't cut him off the minute he said that... I still technically haven't because I'm shit with confrontation. Right now it's basically just a ghosting.

Long ago there lived a hermit along the forest's edge.
So the village knew, as woodcutters spoke of smoke and orderly leaves with branches piled.

It's claimed that one of the woodcutters met the hermit.

Viktor. An old fellow, supported by his sons. A woodcutter family if there ever was one.

Viktor nowadays tended to some whittling and some advising and the usual family task tendrils. Never a peep about his encounter. Yet some say they remember the day. How an abrasive Viktor came back missing all his thorns yet kept roses for cheeks - still flush with color even now, in his old age. Jolly!

His sons had some curiosity but they never dare broach the subject. Would he even remember? they would whisper. He's getting rather senile, they would suggest.

So they left him to his devices. Little figurines he'd whittled up. A cloaked adventurer, staff in hand. A mouse, a horse and a carriage with some stairs toward a cherry tree throne. A wooden civilization that expanded in his garden. Gnomes with oak mushrooms!

As Viktor put down the last piece and leaned back on his porch rocking chair, a ball rolled along his fence. Quickly after rolled a boy right along! Scurried he did for his toy and shyly nodded toward the old man.

And just as the boy was shifting his weight back toward the hill where he always plays, the gnome caught his eye. Then the wooden mushrooms, and the wooden mice, with the carriage and throne in the center surrounded by daisies.

"Who's that?"

Viktor raised his brow. "Whatcha referring to lad?"

The boy stuck out his index. "That one."

Viktor followed the imaginary trajectory with a squint and saw at once.
A cloaked adventurer, staff in hand.

"You want to know?"

The boy nodded, not knowing what he just unearthed.

"Alright. There's a spare chair around the back. Why don't you get that to sit on?"

So the boy crouched down, placed the ball carefully as to not roll, and ran around the back to grab the trusty stool. Some creaks were heard as the visitor settled in the smaller rocking chair, most likely fashioned for Viktor's sons when they were younger.

So our visitor was situated! He leaned a little forward a little wide eyed, waiting.

"It began like any other day..."
